Hello Howard families!
If you have not already completed the parent survey regarding school reopening in the fall please do so by June 12. It is important for all of our parents to have input. Look for additional surveys during the summary. School ReOpen Committee Parent Survey #1 https://forms.gle/DNx3eN8hcRpXsfSs5
Also please take some time to fill out the census data.
Every year, billions of dollars in federal funding go to hospitals, fire departments, schools, roads, and other resources based on census data.
For a better future of our city, schools, and students , please click on the link now and fill out the census. It only takes a few minutes from your time to make a difference.

The Howard PTA would like to congratulate our 5th Grade Dragons on their promotion to middle school! We wish you all the best!
Also, congratulations to all of our students finishing up the year strong and working so hard during distance learning. Thank you to all of our teachers and other Howard staff for their support for parents and students. We appreciate you all!
We hope everyone has a healthy and safe summer! Go Howard Dragons!
Each year we celebrate our appreciation for our teachers during the first week of May. This year the PTA has come up with some ideas for students and families to show appreciation for their teachers from home. Please join us in thanking our Howard staff for everything that they do to educate and support our children.
Parents of current 5th graders who will be attending Bryant Middle School next school year are invited to connect with the Bryant PTA on Facebook. See link below.
We hope you are all staying safe and in good health.
Please enjoy the lovely photo shared by our Howard Staff, and a video compilation of photos from Virtual Spirit Week.
Michigan PTA Statement Regarding COVID-19
(March 11, 2020):
The Michigan Parent Teacher Association (Michigan PTA) recognizes the current COVID-19 situation and is monitoring for potential impacts on our members, families, school communities and children. While the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic today and Governor Whitmer has declared a state of emergency in Michigan, it is not yet clear how these declarations will impact business, schools, meetings and travel. At this time, we would like to express our confidence in the Governor’s office, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) to get information out to the public and to school districts.
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is asking communities to reduce the spread of coronavirus by canceling or postponing large gatherings, reducing in-person gatherings, considering telework or tele-learning options and limiting nonessential work.
This is a rapidly developing situation and each school district is handling the situation differently. We recommend that each PTA/PTSA follow guidelines and communication sent out by your school administration. Sharing this same information with your community on websites, social media and in person will help deliver a consistent message throughout your district.
Here are some resources that you may find helpful.
Clean your hands often:
● Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
● If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
● Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Michigan Department of Health & Human Services Coronavirus
